What Are Work Orders?

A work order is a formal record of a job that requires specific materials or parts — common in handyman, HVAC, plumbing, or equipment repair businesses. Your manager creates work orders and assigns them to you.

Viewing Your Work Orders

  1. Go to Work Orders in the sidebar (if enabled by your employer).
  2. You'll see all work orders assigned to you with their status.
  3. Click any work order to see the full job description, materials needed, and client details.

Work Order Statuses

  • Open — assigned and waiting to be started
  • In Progress — you've begun the job
  • Completed — job done, awaiting manager review
  • Closed — fully resolved

Inventory Items

If your company tracks inventory (cleaning supplies, parts, equipment), your manager may log what materials are used during a job through the work order. You don't need to manage inventory directly — just complete the work order and note any materials used in the job notes.

Low Stock Alerts

Your manager receives automatic alerts when supplies are running low. If you notice a supply is running out, let your manager know so they can reorder before it affects your next jobs.
