Two Referral Programs, One Settings Page

HoodServe has two separate referral programs — one for clients and one for employees. Both are managed from Settings → Referrals.

Client Referral Program

Clients get a personal referral link they can share with friends and neighbors. When someone books using that link, the referring client earns a reward.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Referrals → Client Referral Program.
  2. Enable the program.
  3. Set the reward — e.g., "20% off your next service" or "$25 credit". Write it clearly; clients will see this exact text.
  4. Upload a Referral Share Image — this is the OG image shown when clients share their link on social media. A branded image with a compelling offer works best.
  5. Optionally write a custom Social Caption — the description shown when the link is shared (e.g., "My cleaner is incredible — use my link for a discount on your first booking!").

Employee Referral Program

Employees get their own referral link to share with potential clients. Each successful referral earns them a cash bonus added to their payroll.

Setup

  1. Go to Settings → Referrals → Employee Referral Program.
  2. Enable the program.
  3. Set the bonus per referral — e.g., "$25 per new client booked".
  4. Optionally configure Milestone Rewards — tiered bonuses for hitting referral counts (e.g., 5 referrals = $50 extra, 10 = $120 extra). Use milestones instead of the flat per-referral bonus for gamification.

Approving Referrals

Referrals are not automatically marked as rewarded. You must review and approve them manually:

  • Client referrals: Go to Client Referrals in the sidebar → mark as Rewarded + apply the discount to their next invoice manually.
  • Employee referrals: Go to Employee Referrals → mark as Rewarded → HoodServe adds the bonus to their payroll automatically.
